This genus was created from Brassavola by splitting off two species. The plants have Cattleya-like leaves and pseudobulbs. Flowers are creamy white. In their native habitat of Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America where they grow on trees. In cultivation they prefer humid conditions with healthy air circulation. Do not water excessively. Mount on cork slabs or tree branch mounts or grow in pots. Water with care as they resent excessive water around the roots. Grow in bright light (like Cattleyas or brighter) and provide a lot of fertilizer during the growing season.
