Cattleya Orchid Species Natural Hybrids

Cattleya orchids readily create wild hybrids in their native habitat where two or more species in the same area. A natural hybrid is a cross between two species. Usually, a pollinator will deliver pollen from one parent to another. The resulting seeds have the genes of two species. There are many natural hybrids. Orchid hybridizers sometimes recreate some of these natural hybrids because they possess certain qualities that they are looking to recreate in collector orchid populations.
